Nice View

I had a train picture in for this today (see extra pic) but the view across the Dysinni estuary as I parked in the car park outside Jamie's flat was looking particularly fine this evening.    A constant reminder of how lucky we are to live here.

Essentially a work day as I was rostered for Aber Cafe again.   Having covered an extra turn at short notice yesterday I'd bid for an early finish this afternoon.  Other extra staff were on duty as there was a wedding there today with a full, sit down buffet meal afterwards.   Lots of extra food prep for the others and I was kept busy with assorted preparation jobs alongside the front of house role.   We'd just about got everything straight for the meal - turning the room around from wedding venue involved adding tables, cloths etc before loading them with food.  It looked fabulous ..... and then the lights went out!   A power cut along the whole valley.   Much improvisation, especially for the service train whose passengers arrived almost immediately.  No till, no card payments, no hot water .....  Cheerful compromises were made and everyone left happy.   The mains power returned as the wedding guests ate and just as one of the maintenance staff started up a generator brought up from Tywyn!   Never a dull moment!

A quiet night in, Id also bid for a couple of days off from cleaning to preserve my energy which has been ebbing under the strain of a busy few weeks.  Meg will get a walk if the rain stops.   A showery end to the day.
