Tis the Season

Autumn bulbs are appearing daily and right on cue the weather has turned decidedly autumnal .... or wintry if today's cold winds are anything to go by!   Blustery showers too, unfortunately one of them brought a dog walk with C to a premature and rather soggy end.  Otherwise a day of this and that.   Some admin, mostly sorting some things for Ruth.   I planted the bulbs I bought at the weekend and a few crocuses from an exchange scheme.   Jamie cooked us a tasty tea ... after I had a little siesta :-)

Crocus boryi x tournefortii, a naturally occurring hybrid that proved happy in the garden in Norwich and seems to be doing OK here too.  Both species grow on Crete and in southern Greece but seem to adapt well to UK gardens given a sunny spot and good drainage.
