Tiny Tuesday . . . Ground Level

Just for fun the forester has planted one of the asparagus beds with alternating rows of green and purple asparagus.  Here is a new spear reaching up and it will probably get cut off tomorrow.  A short life but we do savour it and it's friends.  It is said to be sweeter and more tender than the green but I can't tell any difference.  It has 20 percent more sugar in its stalks and contains anthocyanins which are antioxidants.  Thank you Mary Eliza for an interesting set of challenges.
Big excitement this morning when I went to the osteopath and looked back up the hill to see a covering of snow.  By the time I got back home and had walked up the hill it was disappearing fast.  In the extra if you use your imagination there is some snow on the bare earth at the top of the ridge.  It had been completely white earlier.  There are road closures further south of us.  Spring weather can be changeable.
