A Very Warm Day

This week is forecast to be quite warm - at least until Saturday. Today was 88F/31C - a wee bit warm for my taste, especially when October is just around the corner!  Regardless, I had a lovely round of golf with the Ladies Club this morning - a scramble, which is always fun, and I was paired with a lovely group of women. Truly a pleasant morning.

Desk work this afternoon - it was nice to be inside in the coolness. This afternoon it appeared that there was smoke in the atmosphere - fortunately it's quite high and won't affect our breathing. Just makes for dramatic sunsets. Sadly it's from the fires in northern California where we have many friends. Not only is it tragic, but many people are still recovering from the horrendous fires 3 years ago. My heart goes out to everyone who lives in Napa and Sonoma Vallies. These disasters seem to increasing in a devastating way.

In the garden today the Rose of Sharon 'Fiji' (Hibiscus syriacus) is still blooming. This blossom caught my eye since the smoky sun was shining through it at a perfect angle for a photo. Blip!

Hope you are all safe and healthy.
