Evening at Phelps Lake

Backblipping our trip out West Sep 14 - Sep 28

Tuesday
Roger and I walked to a nearby Denny’s for breakfast. Jen had some grocery shopping to do before coming to pick us up, so it was a little before
10am before she arrived. The journey to the Grand Teton area in Wyoming was about 4 1/2 hours plus a quick stop for some lunch. Since this was a somewhat last minute decision to go to the Grand Tetons, we couldn’t find accommodation in the park that was in our price range, so we were staying about an hours drive out of the park, renting an apartment at a complex out in the country, near the town of Driggs. We had to go into the town first to pick up the keys and buy some milk. We then went to the apartment and unloaded our bags and groceries Jen had brought with her, then headed into the Park for a relatively short hike out to Phelps Lake. It was a lovely trail, following a stream and it felt good to stretch our legs having been in the car much of the day. It was a peaceful spot at this time in the early evening, and we sat and enjoyed the view for a while before returning along the trail - see extra.
