Night, Night, Yorkshire

A truly horrible wet day. Very blowy when I took Eda to nursery with lots of puddles to splash in.

Grace had a Health Visitor visit this morning, at the house where we all had to wear masks, and all is well.

This afternoon, when it had got wetter and wilder, Grace had her last Midwife appt so that she could be signed off. John took us down in the car as it was at different clinic just off Gloucester Road, too far fir Grace to walk even in good weather. You should have seen Granny getting in the car in the back between the two car seats! Thought I was going to get stuck getting in but was alright once in situ. Developed a better technique getting out!
Unlike last time, with Eda, I couldn’t attend so went to a nearby cafe called Grounded and had a Chai Latte whilst waiting for them. The midwife thought Jude was a very pretty and delicate baby, with which we can definitely agree, and had put a good amount of weight on, more than a baby usually does in the first two weeks and she is only 11days old. Go Jude!

The rain had eased a bit after Grace had joined me for an indulgent hot chocolate confection, so we decided to risk a short walk to a couple of shops. Mission accomplished but now met heavy drizzle when we came so called John to come and get us.

All cosy inside now but unfortunately we have to go to get Eda from nursery soon, another soaking!

The blip is from a book Eda received for her birthday from Grace’s bridesmaid friend Helen who is a Yorkshire lass.
‘Night, Night Yorkshire’ features some familiar Yorkshire city skylines and places. I think it is lovely and unusual.

Alongside is the measurements on the wall of Eda’s height from age two to three. I wanted a record of it as it shows how little she grew between the age of two and two and a half due to her illness and subsequent diagnosis of Coeliac and early recovery. By comparison there has been a huge spurt of growth from two and a half to three now she is fully recovered and on the right diet.

Happy weekend everyone!
