Macro Comparisons

Having sorted out my camera  kit for extreme macro work I though I would compare it with the images I can get from my very cheap digital microscope. It was rather a rushed job but the digital; microscope seems to have won hands down (lower image). The lighting of the 10p coin by the microscope was far more favourable, a circular array of LED lights around the microscope lens shining directly down on the coin whereas the camera shot was lit  by a led torch from the side which no doubt accounts for a rougher look on the metal coin. The camera image is however, much greater quality as it is 40Mbs whilst the microscope image is only about 2Mbs at this enlargement  Maybe a case for further experimentation
