Croft Castle

We thought Wednesday was going to be a decent day weather-wise so we booked a slot at the National Trust property, Croft Castle, not too far away.  It's the first time we've been there and although certain bits are closed the house and gardens are open, and the view towards Wales is amazing.  The tea rooms were open too and we managed to get a vegan wholemeal cauliflower curry pasty with our drinks for lunch.  We didn't go in the house, but had a nice wander round the very large walled garden which includes a sizable vineyard complete with grapes.

On return to Malvern we stopped by at Great Malvern station (see extra).  The station was opened  in 1860 with the current buildings being completed in 1862.  Lady Emily Foley was a key sponsor of the building of Great Malvern station. She had a waiting room made for her exclusive use, which is now ‘Lady Foley's Tea Room' (from Wikipedia).   The tea room certainly had a touch of 'Brief Encounter' about it!
