Breakfast in Guildford

This morning I met up with a group of friends for breakfast in Guildford. We try to meet up once or twice a year, and due to lockdown we haven't seen each other this year. As there were 7 of us we sat at 2 tables which were near each other but spaced quite far apart. The breakfast was lovely, and as the restaurant was not too busy we could shout speak loudly across to each other at the other table.

It rained the whole morning and after breakfast I quickly took a photo of the high street with it's lovely clock on the Guildhall, which was initially built around 1550. It was dull and raining when I took this photo but it did improve this afternoon and the sun came out.

Next week Gavin and I are going to the Lake District for a couple of days. It was planned quite recently and at the time of booking we did not know what the Coronavirus restrictions would be. There are going to be new announcements on Monday which is when we would have already left, but hopefully it won't affect us as both the area we are coming from and the area we going to are not hotspots. I don't think the economy will cope with a full lockdown again, but the government reassure us that won't happen again, but who knows what will be. Cases are obviously rising as more and more testing takes place, so it is very difficult to compare the numbers to when we initially went into lockdown.
