Wild Life

We enjoyed a decent 8km walk through Woodchester today. The trees are still in their golden yellow stage, but it is sad to see the gradual loss of the ash trees to chalara. We set out quite early and took the upper tracks which avoided the more populated areas and headed to the Kennel Pond at the eastern end.

Taking shots of the woodland and the lake, we saw the ducks in the distance... Is that a dog? Yes, a Labrador, I think... He's after them ducks! Might be a picture! But as the shape came closer it became clear it wasn't a dog at all, but someone enjoying a wild swim, despite all the signage to the contrary. Still, I don't suppose he looks at Blipfoto, eh...

On the route back, it seemed most of Gloucestershire had come out for an after lunch walk. Although most folk are keeping a good distance one from the other, inevitably some folk don't get the message without a significant amount of loud obvious coughing, at which point they dive off to the side as we bid them a happy good afternoon.

It's simple self defence. ;-)
