Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

A Beautiful Birthday

What a beautiful day to have a birthday walk along the saltwater!   Here’s H,( now also 80!),  with his “the whole world is shut down” gesture that makes us giggle,  in the newly revamped Elliott Bay trail by the Expedia Group’s new Campus, just north of the Grain terminal on Puget Sound.  (I thought it a good pair to the similar one on the 11th along the lake.) We have not been here to see the changes and the gorgeous beach landscaping so this was a treat.  It’s really only 15 minutes drive away. It connects with the Sculpture Park a bit south.    Can’t quite make out Olympic mountains today in the clouds but you can see Bainbridge Island and a tug and barge.   All kinds of interesting things to see besides the grain terminal..there is an old fishing pier (closed) and the piers where fishing boats and tugs and cruise ships dock but none of the latter there now.  Just some joggers, walkers and bikers, sunshine and water.   It got warm and H was wishing he still had his shorts on.  (He put them on when we got home)

Extra,. looking south to the city through the grain terminal.  That’s a new birthday bandana. :-)
Also a wider view of this part of the trail and some landscape still under construction.  And some fall color..with Expedia's lights (?)

Balloons from the neighbors,  and a good shrimp meal if it comes on time  (blue apron…but I’m switching the unbeloved kale to asparagus) and apple crunch for dessert.   We’re still hoping our family can figure out some outdoor time to celebrate all the Fall birthdays all at once as we usually do… 2 son’s and a grandson’s are coming up soon.  It's kind of one day at a time,  they do march on...

Edit: Blue Apron arrived after 7 .. by then we had ordered foraged mushroom pizza and pumpkin gelato .. all fabulous!  We’ll have shrimp tomorrow:-)
