Lino cutting workshop postponed

until a rainy day. The sun was shining, the sky the most amazing blue - sky blue. It was too good to be sat indoors lino cutting, so I sent Jos a message suggesting a walk down by the harbour first. I popped the flasket of apples etc. outside the door. Not many left now. I nipped up the Coop grabbed the newspaper, plus a couple of freshly baked Pain au raisin, dropped off the paper, grabbed my lino cutting gear, plus a bag of apples to drop off at Carolyn's then I was on my way. Arrived at Josie's dead on 10.30am. Checked out what she'd been doing with her back garden. Fortunately she totally agreed with the change of plans so we set off. Took the pastries with us & headed for Molly's on Paignton harbourside to grab a coffee 'to go'. Everyone had the same idea but not crowded by any means. We are certainly fortunate to live down here, AND have it to ourselves, more or less since Covid, although some looked like holidaymakers. The tide was out so after checking out the lobster/crab pot construction, recycling tyres by cutting into strips, fixing the net to the frames, we went down on the beach. Plenty of photo opportunities, & puddles ..... it's only water. :-) We chatted to a guy cleaning his boat, then moved around to Fairy Cove. More photo opportunities. The cormorants were socially distancing out on the rocks, the seagulls resting. A small flock of pretty Turnstones were feeding on the rocks below. Their plumage brilliant camouflage against the rocks. I missed them a couple of times, caught them another couple. The joys of no viewfinder. There were 5 cruise ships anchored out in the bay, M.S. Zaandam & M.S. Volendam being two. The others apparently are Cunard's Queen Mary 2, P&O ships Azura & Ventura, plus a third Holland America Line ship M.S Westerdam. We walked the coast to Roundham gardens then down onto Goodrington. A refuelling stop at Cantina Kitchen, crispy fish tacos washed down with an Anning's cider, a perfect end to our seaside bimble.
I dropped Carolyn's apples off on the way home.

A knock on the door this evening ... it was Jasper & his mum Hayley with two scrummy, fresh out of the oven, individual apple crumbles. That was pud sorted with warm custard.
