Show Time

As Miss E had Miss R over last night, Miss L came and snuggled in with us and watched an hour or so of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It was lovely,  like old times!
I had a bit of a sore throat but didn't think too much of it until I woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat, a banging headache and generally feeling ropey. Uuuuuuuggghhhhhhh!!!
I thought it was unlikely to be COVID as I felt the same as I always do in the early stages of the colds I get every year and I have no temperature, no cough and no loss of taste and smell. But I was worried as Miss E had two more friends coming at lunchtime and couldn't in all conscience not let their parents know I was ill.
We texted to explain  - and tell them I'd be isolating myself in my bedroom at the top of the house - and left it up to them. A bit of a nightmare I bet - I know how I'd have felt if I'd got that text!
Miss E got into more of a tizz as the evening went on last night - the whole point of the sleepover apparently was to watch the DVD of the production of Cinderella Rockafeller they did at the end of Year 6.
Only she hadn't mentioned that to me or Mr K, so when she was getting more and more anxious about where the DVD was - Nana's!! - or the code for a digital version - who knows where?!! - the more cross I got. We'll find it I kept saying, or I'll go to Nana's to get the DVD  but it wasn't enough to reassure her.
So much on her little shoulders organising her sleepover!
So I was dreading telling her people may cancel because I was ill but she took that surprisingly well.
But they all still wanted to come. Yay. And the valves arrived for the tent (even though Mr K didn't bother putting them on!) and the judging by the amount of giggling and squealing coming from the tent into the early hours, a good time was had.
I was worried Miss L would feel left out and sad but the older ones kindly let her sit out with them and watch the films. She came in at about 9pm when it started raining. And Mr K charged out to get the projector in!
I spent all day in bed, feeling rotten, mostly watching Death in Paradise and feeling guilty leaving Mr K alone to deal with seven million excited Tweens!
