Stuff and Nonsense

Cornflower

Shopping for parents this morning - Dad is booked in for a hip replacement operation a week on Monday so has to isolate for 2 weeks so we only stayed for a few minutes to do a couple of jobs for mum in the garden whilst she stood in the doorway. We need to return tomorrow to replace two panels of glass in their greenhouse (if the new panes arrive as expected today).
I’m not convinced Dad’s op will go ahead given the number of COVID cases in the north west, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. Mum has him wrapped up in kid gloves not letting him do anything either inside the house or in the garden. She doesn’t want anything to happen before Monday week.
We did a few bits in our own garden this afternoon but there is still more to do before we can give up for the winter.
We still have a tub of mixed cornflowers that were planted late in the summer and have started flowering recently. This is the lovely pink one - we also have various shades of blue, magenta and white but they’re looking a bit straggly.
Other than that it was a bit of a lazy day. We should have gone out for a walk really, but neither of us were in the mood for it and then it got too late. Tomorrow we will try harder to get out...
