Bright Orange

Hickory leaves in the wood caught my eye in the gloomy light now they've turned bright orange. The trick was finding a spot to shoot them without bright sky holes behind and finding a clump at the right height. Even with the aperture wide open and the iso turned up, getting a sharp image was difficult because of a stiff breeze. At f5.6 though, I was able to get decent separation from the background.

I like the overall shape, texture and colour. I think I could make more of the relationship to the background shapes. Maybe find a shapely tree to fit in the gap in the leaves.
