The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: an excellent process at my surgery for having a flu jab and I was in and out in under a minute, not even going into a room and with the fire door open for exit and ventilation. The Bad: B&Q: I've been trying for 2 days to order some stepping stones for delivery, I couldn't do it online, head office general couldn't do it, head office bulk delivery couldn't do it, the Fakenham store said our Hub at Norwich was actually out of stock. The Ugly: the weather, continuous rain all day, hence the jigsaw!  I also attended a Zoom U3A talk on hoaxes this morning and will soon be at my photo club Zoom meeting on 'photographing people'.

Day 220 / Day 8 of The 3 Tiers (for my record only)
UK deaths up 191 to 44,158 (revised basis), with a 26,688 rise in new daily cases, 6,479 patients in hospital and 629 in ventilator beds. Globally cases to date passed 41m last night, up 1m in 2 days. Total cases to date in Spain pass 1m, doubling in 6 weeks, Having not been badly affecting at the beginning of the 2nd wave, Italy saw daily cases of 15,199 today. South Yorkshire has agreed a move to Tier 3 from Sat, covering Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield (meaning 13% of the popn of Eng is in Tier 3). The £60m of business support in Gtr MCr will be given directly to the councils, bypassing the Mayor (who now seems to think the PM should visit him in MCr - as if hes nothing else to do!) A Long Covid study finds that 1 in 20 have symptoms for 8 weeks or more. Four students in Nottingham have each been fined £10k for having a party in a Tier 2 area, telling officers they had 'spoiled their fun' (I'd like to know how many students have been kicked out of uni for serious breaches of restrictions).
