Quod oculus meus videt

A Long Time in Waiting

A great friend, who I have had some wonderful times with over the last 10 years or so has been suffering with back problems in recent years.  Our walking adventures have taken a back seat while the NHS went about fixing him.  Today, a few weeks after successful nerve ablation therapy to stop the pain he has been suffering for some years, we went for a walk on Cannock Chase.

For someone, who just a few weeks ago was unable to walk more than a few metres without stopping, to walk over 11 miles and at good pace was amazing. We roamed the Chase, watching fallow deer bucks roaring at each other in their rut, marvelling at the ancient oaks and having a well earned coffee at one of the local cafes.  Plans have been made for further walks.

It wasn’t a day for considered photography, the forecast was for heavy rain most of the morning so we felt lucky that we not experienced a light drizzle. I only carried the phone and used the average camera pro app to create this Pep Ventosa style image.
