Exodus

On another grey day, I found this branch overhanging the water casting a reflection on the surface. At first that was my only idea and I spent quite some time finding a position where the branch and reflection were separated.

High wind over previous days had pushed all the algae further into the inlet leaving the water clear. I noticed today it seems to be flowing back towards the lake. And so I began experimenting to find a suitable shutter speed that would blur its movement. The flow and speed were affected by the wind, as was the position of the algae flow in the frame.

I tried to emphasize the algae with some dodging and burning. I think a polariser might have helped here to take some glare off the water.
