A bridge to nowhere

Overnight the inkcaps that I photographed yesterday have progressed to the next stage in their lives, slowly deliquescing into a black ink like liquid, as befits their name. Spot the photobombing cranefly.

Extra. The next plague is upon us. To the pestilence has been added the great flood. A night of torrential rain has caused the Foveran burn to break its banks and the main roads are severely flooded. What next I wonder?
