On and off the rails

Yeoford station, mid-Devon. What a journey!

Met J at Stroud station. We travelled to Swindon, changed trains for Westbury, and arrived a few minutes late because our train had been held up. Unfortunately the express train to Exeter had left without us, and all the other people who needed to catch it. So we were sent back up the line to Bristol, where we waited for another train to Exeter, a further one to Barnstaple, before boarding a bus to Ilfracombe.

We arrived a mere two hours later than expected, in the dark, but the weather was at least dry! We are happy with our B and B, but were glad to walk into town after sitting down all day. Had some great fish and chips (g-f for me) in a asit down restaurant, just squeaked in because it closed at eight! Walked 'home' via an almost-deserted Lidl store, and got back in time to avoid a torrential downpour.
