Viaduct

This viaduct, carrying the west coast railway line (Glasgow/Edinburgh to London Euston), has 22 red sandstone arches crossing the Weaver valley.

A circular walk this afternoon with meandering offshoots around the Woodland Trust’s Dutton Park. We don’t normally walk this section, but as the longhorn cattle were nowhere to be seen ( missing the theme though) it felt comfortable.

Sadly, we may not have an opportunity to walk here again until next Spring. We park at the nearby garden nursery, and it closes for 4 months from November. The alternative route is just a bit too “peopled”, although I may have a go on a very early morning sometime.
