Walking into the light

This photo does NOT represent today. Firstly, the weather was absolutely foul this morning with lashing rain and wind due to Storm Whatever (lost track of all these storm names now) . And secondly, we are not walking into the light but walking into yet another s***storm that is a second lockdown.

This morning we tried to walk Xena at the golf club but it was rather exposed and as the rain was pelting down and she hated every minute of it, her tail was tucked so tightly between her legs and she stood all hunched blinking in the rain. So we went back to the car and drove to the woods where we were more protected by the tree canopy and she preferred that.

In the afternoon the sun came out! I went for another walk around our neighbourhood while Gavin did some work and it was fun to see all the Halloween decorations, there will be children trick and treating tonight and houses giving out treats will do so in a Covid safe manner.

I was very sad to hear about the death of Sean Connery, such a fine actor and the sexiest James Bond ever!

And now I am waiting to hear the Prime Ministers address about our second lockdown - yet of course all the facts are already known and have been leaked by BBC news earlier today, it is such a farce having the BIG announcement tonight. I think everyone is fed up with living with the virus and another lockdown is going to push many individuals and businesses over the edge. I hope they do keep schools and universities open as promised, the youth cannot sacrifice their education yet again to protect the elderly and vulnerable. We went to Waitrose at lunch time to get a few things and for the first time in many months there was a long queue outside, waiting to be allowed to enter. I bet you when I go on Monday morning toilet paper and eggs will be sold out again! Here we go again, not sure I have the spirit and enthusiasm to cope with another lockdown.

Luke and Meriel are on a week's holiday in the Lake District, and so far they are finding it very wet and that the parking charges everywhere rather annoying and expensive.
