A beautiful sunny day and we were in the car in the carpark, just about to go shopping when it started. The car rocked back and forth, side to side, for the longest minute I have known. I can't say I was scared - more confused and astonished - and then we went shopping, not realising until later, the magnitude of what had just happened. This evening it is, of course, all over the news and although it is mostly about Izmir, another town, Kusadasi, on the coast and nearer the epicenter also suffere casualties.. 

Measuring 6.6,  and the epicenter just 70km from us, hell of an exit for October in this hell of a year.
