The Wooler Squadron of starlings on a training exercise. They still need to perfect their technique, but their murmurations are becoming more precise. Their reputation must be spreading in the starling world, as the numbers seem to be increasing.

After our lengthy trip to the DIY shop yesterday (we arrived at the Alnwick branch to discover it shut, due to a power cut, and eventually drove 30 miles in the opposite direction to the shop in Berwick), there were no excuses. So it was a day spent mostly working on the woodwork in the hall for MrM and, between heavy showers, working in the 'yard for me. Lots more still to do!

Yesterday, Dithering Doris, our incompetent PM, at last announced a second lockdown, having failed to do so weeks ago as recommended by his scientific advisors. Schools and colleges are to remain open, so how effective it will be is debatable. Several friends in the teaching profession are not impressed...
