OFF THE RAILS

What an unexpectedly busy day today.

Yesterday Hubby noticed we had a leak in the garage roof, luckily not attached to the house but we do house our extra small freezer and washing machine down there and the leak was right over them.  Again luckily we have a worked service over them so the drips were bouncing off them!!

The day started off as a normal for a Monday, with a great Zoom Tai Chi session from the lovely C, Gladders and of course all supervised by Gus, the most chilled out dog in the universe.

Whilst I was doing this Hubby phoned to see if her could get himself and G a haircut before lockdown, not expecting to get anything and they could fit them both in one after the other at 11:30 - yeaaah.  He also phoned someone about the leak in garage roof and they said they would call sometime today.  They turned up straight after my Tai Chi session had finished, climbed up onto the garage roof to have a look.  We were hoping it was just going to be loose tiles.  Sadly no, no loose tiles at all, but the pitch is too thin apparently and it's getting up underneath so it looks like we need a new garage roof - eeeeeekkkkkk MORE EXPENSE.  Looks like the new furniture we'd saved up for is going to take a back seat then!!!

Then it was time for Hubby and G to get their hair cuts, so I hitched a lift and whilst waiting for them went for a walk along the top half of Grange Prom and up onto the railway bridge to take this photo

Lots of flooding about, lots of people about, all looking busy getting ready for lockdown, however all socially distancing well and wearing masks when going into shops.

We got home and there were several packages in the porch and then before the coats we taken off the doorbell went and another large package had arrived.  So those have been put down to the dry part of the garage for a couple of days, which will then be cleaned off before we open them - not expecting anything urgent anyway.

Mum phoned and her neighbour had managed to get someone to come and have a look at her downpipes as they have been spouting a fountain of water whenever it rains heavily.  She's going to have work done on that, so we phoned to tell us all her news as well.

In the extras you can see the remains of the lovely autumnal colours  in Grange's Ornamental Gardens plus another shot showing it is flooded.  This is quite common when we have heavy rain.

I will be doing a Zoom Mindfulness session tonight and then I can chill out for the rest of the evening - yeahhh!!!

Hope you are all staying dry and staying safe.   Do take care.
