Everyday I Write The Book

Covid can come in through your cat flap.

Scout has been very jumpy this week. He always registers the change of the seasons and hates the sound of fireworks (last night he hid under a bed); TSM thinks it brings back memories of when he went missing for two weeks at this time of year, seven years ago. She could be right, he’s a sensitive little soul.

We had a partly successful trip to Reading IKEA; a very quick hospital appointment for a CT scan (the radiographer clearly wanted to get home for his supper, I was in and out in five minutes); and a chance to talk properly with The Dizzle, who has been doing some long early shifts the last three days. Mystic Em was also over so it was lovely to catch up.

Huge Sainsbury’s delivery at eight pm. It was a a scheduled restocking of the larder which coincided with lockdown so our cupboards are definitely not bare at the moment. But we’ve mislaid the Turkish Delight. It was there and now we can’t find it. Very odd.

Big day tomorrow. The Dizzle has a birthday and America gets to vote...
