Brilliant people, brilliant night.

So rather than having a day of repose, Laura, Tobias and I all woke up three hours later and went to Mont Saint-Michel for a little day trip! This is the two of them on the ramparts at the top of the island...pretty impressive view I know. I think since Laura had her camera as well today, she realised why I carry mine round the majority of the time...obviously so you can take nice pictures, but at the same time so you can hide behind it when someone else is taking a picture of you! Now there has always been this little argument between Normandy and Brittany as to whom Mont Saint-Michel belongs to...being adopted Norman, I'm obviously going to say it belongs to Normandy! Now, although extremely beautiful and well worth a visit, I have to be honest...I could not see myself living there, it is too hilly and a little bit small for me! However, even though it seems small the streets are so windy and enclosed that it was quite easy to get lost. Luckily Laura had been before so she became our unofficial guide. Tobias and I played a little game too...entitled How many people are using the flash on their big DSLR cameras in the daytime for no apparent reason (obviously Tobias is joking in this photograph). I am sorry to announce that there were more people using their flashes in broad daylight than not. Seriously is one of my pet hates with people who have the big cameras, and then use the flash at every given moment - even when the moment is not appropriate!

Anyway, lovely lovely day out...and I think we coped admirably with the lack of sleep, not one demand for coffee whilst at Mont Saint-Michel (well, as well, the prices are rather steep!) and not one complaint of being tired. I guess it was just because we were doing something interesting and out of the norm that meant we could still function on a normal level. After arriving home we then went out for a meal at Au Bureau with Kendra joining us on the way. This restaurant was not the first one we went into however. Now comes one of the strangest and most awkward moments of my life...the four of us sitting in a restaurant, no music playing and no-one else talking. That's right, bar us, complete silence. And as Tobias does not speak French, we were all speaking English...so that made us stick out even more. We lasted five minutes before we broke and had to leave before the sheer awkwardness of the situation overcame us! However, a really great time at the restaurant we finally went to...with lots of great conversation, great company, and of course, great food.

Knackered now though.
