Dixon Heights Tower

First day of Lockdown 2.0 in England but we are allowed out to exercise. We had clambered up near here on 16 Oct and saw this tower in the distance. Mr P said to leave the tower for another day when he would drive and park closer, in the quaintly named "Back o' the Fell Road" which is what he did today.
On the top of Dixons Heights is this ruined tower. According to Wainwrights book on the Outlying Fells, it was used by the Home Guard during the war.  A local legend claims it was “a lookout for the observation of smugglers in the estuary”, but who built it ,when and why, I cannot discover.

Shame it was not as sunny as yesterday, thanks for the hearts and stars.

Lockdown 2.0 how are the rules different from last time:-

 -Public toilets will be open
 - Schools and Universities stay open
- Garden centres can stay open
- Garages can service and MOT your car ( thank goodness; mine's due this month)
- Parks are open and you can sit on a bench
- We can do unlimited exercise and we can travel to do it, locally is preferred.
- Dentists and Opticians stay open
- Nobody is told to shield
