"Character matters"

With it being such an unbelievably beautiful morning, it would have been nothing short of a crime not to take a long walk.

The camera was thrown in the bag along with water and a snack and I walked, squelching and squirching my way over saturated fields adjacent to the river. This squirrel kindly posed for me, as did cormorants and a heron in a tree (which looked really weird, almost a photoshop from nature). I failed to capture my children who were out on a walk with their mum, but we did have a conversation across the river about a confirmed location for pink ted: The Youngest’s favourite.

The rest of the day passed in a haze of flatpack construction and blind installation.

That was it really….

Oh, you may not have heard, but Joe Biden won the US Presidential Election and in so doing struck a massive blow for decency, compassion and respect for others. With Kamala Harris as the first female Vice President by his side, this just ‘feels’ right and judging by the celebrations across the US and indeed, THE WORLD, is exactly what the majority of people needed right now.

It’s why the clip of CNN’s Van Jones crying on live TV went viral, because Biden’s win is an endorsement of what the majority of people believe, of the moral code that the majority of people try and live their lives by.

“Today is a good day. It’s easier to be a parent this morning. Character MATTERS. Being a good person MATTERS. This is a big deal. It’s easy to do it the cheap way and get away with stuff — but it comes back around. Today is a good day.” – Van Jones.
