Memorial

Tanks were apparently invented - or at least first made and tested - in Lincoln. Hence we have this memorial on a roundabout in the city. The poppies are not always there - they have been made for Remembrance Sunday from old plastic bottles by local school children.

It is very important that we remember the sacrifice of soldiers and their families, the waste of lives on both sides and the fascism and racism they fought against. When you see members of right wing movements purporting to defend war memorials whilst doing Nazi salutes it makes you wonder if the message is getting lost somewhere!
