Sheridan Street, Gundagai

Gundagai, population about 2,000, has signs of past prosperity, especially its stately civic, commercial and residential buildings. It was an important centre for pastoralists, explorers and the Aboriginal Wiradjuri people. It was also subject to bushranger activity.

The photo is of Gundagai's main street. In the left foreground is the famous Niagara Cafe with its triple-curved glass front, and in the right background can be seen some of the mountains which surround the town.

Thanks for hosting Majoayee. Stay well blippers.
