Alveston

Another dark, damp, murky day.....anyone would think it was November.  Anyway we did another village this afternoon,  Alveston about three miles out of Stratford. A village of many large imposing houses in their own grounds and home to J B Priestley at Kissing Tree House in his later years until his death in 1984.  I peered through the imposing gates, locked, camera covered, intercom connection of this house but could only see the extensive parkland plus a pond complete with artificial heron.

The village has a large pub The Ferry Inn, closed at the moment of course, although it was not until we found a narrow footpath that we could see how close the village is to the River Avon.  It was from the path that I took this photo.  The theme for today's Mono Monday is Shape and Form in the Landscape: Leading Lines hosted by Majoayee.
