A Day In The Life

Service & Sacrifice

Veterans’ Day is a day we honor all those who have served in our armed forces, living and dead. We honor their courage, their sacrifices and above all, patriotism • When Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japan on 12/07/41, 2400 servicemen and civilians died. The US entered WWII that day and 36 million men registered to train and defend our country • One of those men was 21 year old, Eddie, my Dad. His older and younger brother also joined and all were assigned to the US Navy. My Dad and his older brother served in the Pacific on US War Ships from 1942-1945; sadly, their younger brother was killed in action, at only 18 years old • All who served were awarded the WWII Victory Medal (pictured). Inscribed on the back: Freedom from fear and want / Freedom of speech and religion • So many have given so much so that others can freely and safely live their lives. I’m forever grateful • Thank You to the Soldiers all over the World.
