Castle after dark

A bit more work in the 'yard this afternoon - lining replaced in the second wall planter, miniature daffs split, some of the violas planted. Then it started drizzling, and by the time I'd tidied up and got indoors my hair was wet through!

Late afternoon trip to Alnwick with MrM, who had done 'click and collect' order for yet more DIY materials. I went along just for the ride - good to escape our immediate surroundings for a short while. We passed Alnwick Castle on the way, partly lit up, showing the scaffolding to good effect.

Wooler is lit up too. A band of volunteers put up the C******** lights today, and the tree at the end of the High Street, and this evening they were all switched on. They're supposed to lift our spirits, but through the rain, with the streets deserted, they make the place look quite melancholy...
