The back ginnel that played a part in the war

After Guernsey was occupied by the Germans the British wanted to have some detail about what was actually happening here so sent a local serviceman on a commando raid to find out. He was Hubert Nicolle whose  parents lived in one of these houses and because of this ginnel he was able to approach the house by a roundabout route and get in by the back door without being seen.
