Fieldfares?

What's that racket - a flock of birds chattering in the field, that flew up into the tree when I went outside to investigate. Our neighbour had told us to look out for fieldfares. I got my long lens. Close up in extras- are they fieldfares or starlings? Mr P wants them to be fieldfares to add to his list but I think they look like starlings.
