Promises

...of spring. Well, not really...this Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide' will bloom long before spring. Given its name, it's supposed to bloom in December, but will more likely bloom in January in its cool spot in my garden.

The extra is Achillea millefolium 'Pretty Woman' - native to Oregon and very cold hardy, as you can see!

It was cold and foggy this morning, damp as could be. I took a Zumba class this morning to get the blood flowing and the sun finally came out for about 2 hours this afternoon. I had intentions of planting bulbs...well, I did plant 5 Fritillaria imperialis 'Rubra Maxima' bulbs which should be show stoppers next May. They look fussier to grow than I realized so I had to be mindful where I planted them. I did a lot of clean up and at least cleared the gardens for planting bulb...so next decent day that's the plan.

Meanwhile, it's time for a bit of a read by the fire before dinner! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!
