Anyone for Tennis?

I took this picture as we set off on our walk this morning. It was a bit below zero but warm in the sun. The tennis court is owned and run by the village tennis club, and it's closed for the winter.
The weather continued like this all day, until it got dark at about 3:30 (sunset is 2:30). Even now, as midnight approaches, the sky is clear and a nearly full moon shines very brightly on thick hoar frost.
Back from the walk we spent the rest of the daylight hours doing various garden things. I drained the water butts for the last time, but it wasn't easy. I usually siphon the water away with a hose-pipe but the water slowly froze as it ran through the pipe, so the flow got less and less until it ceased! I had to move the hosepipe into the cellar to thaw before doing the next butt.
As we walked today we talked about how elemental nature can be here. Bright sun, warmth, cold, ice, frost. Today we had all that. The extra picture, from the edge of the lake, also shows something of that.
