Hendon, Woodchurch

We travelled to see a house in Woodchurch near Ashford via Headcorn to call in at a deli to check out some Christmas presents. Neither were very successful. The house didn’t really fit the bill and the deli’s range of Kentish produce didn’t live up to expectations. So the search continues.

Woodchurch and the surrounding countryside was very pleasant. The village is built around a huge village green surrounded by many fascinating buildings including this, No 1, The Green. It’s a
15th century timber framed building. The house at one time belonged to the broadcloth manufacturers who also owned Hendon Place in Biddenden.

The countryside, even in a cold drab and sometimes wet day was full of interest with woodlands and rolling hills. We passed through one farm with a pen of woolly pigs!

The estate agent did give us another idea for property suitable to accommodate Doreen by suggesting we considered a domestic, internal lift to get Doreen upstairs. Apparently, they’re compact and less intrusive than a stairlift. Some investigation needed.
