Super Mulch Deal

It always fascinates me how many of us rake and pick up all the leaves, bark, dead branches, and whatever else we can find on our lawns in the Fall, but then hurry over to the home improvement store in the Spring to buy bags full of the same stuff we got rid of to put down around our bushes and flowers. Well times are tough even for the big box home improvement stores apparently. Either that or someone ordered way too much, way too early. They even had to call in the amateur sign maker to write up this discount.

What is mulch? It's organic plant material that someone raked up and paid to have hauled away. What is mulch? It's organic plant material that someone buys by the bag-fulls to keep the weeds down and provide nutrients to plants in our gardens.

What a waste.

But at least my tax man and I had a fun day browsing that big box store and lunching at the golf course restaurant - there were even a few golfers out today.

Today I am grateful for the friendly worker at the home improvement center who entertained and educated us.
