Snowing All Day

We woke to find snow had arrived overnight.
Last year the baby sat in her bouncy chair,
facing the window to watch flakes float.
Her arms waved and her legs kicked in delight.

This year she greeted the sight with He-heee!
followed at once by a Wow!
She wore her wellies, snowsuit and mitts,
and played in the snow with glee.

When the sky grew dark, she led us, again and again,
to open the door to the cold, to point and gaze
at the vast whiteness of the once-green grass,
and the Christmas lights twinkling all round.

This evening the snow turned to rain, and all is beginning to melt. But it was beautiful while it lasted, and little Miss B was thrilled by it all.

Mrs B's winter-flowering pansies are buried under snow here, but I'm sure they'll bounce back when it thaws.

Have a lovely weekend, blipmates!
