Christmas Lights

Anyone trying to organise an event in these restricted times deserves an award for perseverance!

Compton Verney normally has a light show running up to Christmas, but this year they have been limited to a lighted walkway around part of the grounds and lights on the house,  still worth seeing, but probably nor what they were hoping for?

This is the house seen from across the lake,  I used a monopod as I thought there would be too many visitors for carrying a tripod and the results have turned out ok.   In practice a tripod would have been ok and some of the illuminated paths with the trees uplight would have made good compositions.  Might have another go if the weather is reasonable next Saturday.  Lots of families with children very happy to have a chance to move about in the fresh air and seek out the stars in the trees (in the extra).   Plenty of room though, so everyone was able to keep a reasonable distance from anyone not with them.

We had the first visitors to our Tree Trail effort this afternoon - just as the sun was setting. Good to see families out with their maps enjoying the trees.

Thanks to everyone for your visits to my journal recently - it made my day this morning to find one of my blips has been used for a BC splash :-)
