Sunshine and showers

The excitement! Once upon a pre-Covid time, a trip to the coast and to Alnwick was a regular occurrence. Today it felt like an adventure, and was our first outing in the car for almost 3 weeks!

First a walk on the beach at Alnmouth. Today's weather was changeable, to say the least, but we managed to avoid the showers and it was lovely to be beside the sea again! The extra was taken less than 2 minutes after the Blip, from more or less the same spot. Back to the car for coffee and a snack before setting off again.

Next to Shilbottle, to drop off a mandolin that MrM had repaired. Finally to Alnwick, where we hoped to accomplish several things. The main reason for this afternoon's trip was to pick up a click-and-collect order for hinges and some mastic. But turned out to be something of a wild goose chase - the hinges, supposedly in stock, won't be available for collection until Tuesday! On to buy a pot-grown Christmas tree - usually no problem this early in December, but this year they've sold out already. We did succeed in buying some paint match pots and some wood, so not all was lost! The trip was worth it just for the beach walk...
