A very wet Tier 3 Covid birthday

It was a lovely day here but sadly not in Whitley Bay for Thomas’s 8th birthday.

We tied balloons on a tree with the help of #3 daughter and family and held banners ready for when Thomas and James came running across the squelchy grass to reach us. They played Pass the Parcel then thwacked a piñata from the tree. We went to the cars where he blew out his candles and we sang happy birthday. He was thrilled with his litter picker and said it was his best present. The others want one now! They loved the “party” and didn’t care about the rain. It will be a birthday to remember that’s for sure.

When I got home I was straight into a hot Bath scented with my lime basil and mandarin oil.
