Free range hens

Our neighbours bought some chicks in the spring. They have now matured into laying hens and have obviously been reading the free range manual as they spend most days exploring. Stanley has made it clear that they are not welcome in our garden, especially since they ate the sprouting green manure which Ms S had planted. Their preferred pasture now seems to be with the sheep in the field at the back of our gardens. The sheep don't seem to mind.
A busy day. Haircuts and a trip to the Post Office this morning to post the calendars. The cost of sending packages to the USA and Canada has increased by over a third! Apparently something to do with customs charges. Will it get worse with Brexit? Postal services are apparently struggling under the increased use this year as a result of Covid and more online retail, including e-Bay. This afternoon we had a trip out to our preferred framing shop to choose a frame for my 70th birthday present from Ms S. Tonight it is the Camera Club Christmas quiz. It is beginning to feel more like Christmas, especially as Piero (my sax teacher) is specifying festive tunes for my lesson next.
