Dreich

A grey day but I forced myself out for a walk around the block and the cemetery. The rain meant fewer people out and about and the cemetery fox was, disappointingly, nowhere to be seen. It was no doubt hunkering down in a cosy spot. 

I've got things done today, including baking my first ever Christmas cake. It's a Delia recipe so should be foolproof. Indeed, it has an encouraging weight and hasn't fallen apart from the tray to the tin. Next step more brandy and, eventually, marzipan and icing. 

Fred cooked at amazing herb dumpling and roast vegetable extravaganza this evening. Nom.
