CHRISTMAS SILLY SATURDAY

Hello Lovely Blippers

Mrs. HCB has been busy knitting again so now we all have little red outfits and hats - she said everyone needs something red at Christmas.  Anyway, we decided that we would have a little Christmas Carol Singalong very late last night - actually we had to wait until Mr. & Mrs. HCB had gone to bed, because we didn’t want to disturb them, so it was well past midnight before we started!  It was jolly cold in their conservatory, because the heating had gone off, but we didn’t let that bother us.  In fact, Penny Penguin told us not to be wimps and that she was used to much lower temperatures, so we just got on with the singing.

Because it was so late, some of us were yawning and we had to wake Hoggy, the Hedgehog, but he soon got into the spirit of the singing and we all enjoyed it once we got going.  There’s something about singing Christmas carols together and it brought back lots of memories of bygone times.  One or two didn’t know all the words, so they just la-la-ed along, but that was fine.

We aren’t that keen on all these modern Christmas songs, we like the old-fashioned Christmas Carols - like Hark the Herald Angels Sing, O Come, All Ye Faithful, and of course, we love Away in a Manger.  The trouble with Christmas these days is that people have forgotten what it’s all about - they think that if you buy people BIG presents, and eat and drink lots, that will make you happy but of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

We know that it has been a hard year for everyone and we are very grateful that we have been living with Mr. & Mrs. HCB who know and believe the real meaning of Christmas is love - and not just love for each other but love that can be shared with family, friends and neighbours.  So, even if, as we have heard many people say, Christmas won’t be the same this year, we know that Mr. & Mrs. HCB intend celebrating the birth of Jesus, as they always do and I daresay they will even sing some Carols together.

Even though you may not see those you love this Christmas - and we think especially at this time of Admirer and her family, spending their first Christmas without her - you can still think of all your family and friends and maybe even wish them a Happy Christmas on Zoom or FaceTime;  hopefully next year, we will all be able to meet up again and celebrate and even hug one another!

We all hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, filled with love, joy, hope and peace - and we hope and pray that 2021 will be a much better year for all of us.

With love to you all, from

JH Ted, Snowy, Goldie, Tiny, Penny Penguin and Hoggy xxx
