Work in progress

A strange day, alternating between busy patches and periods of distraction. And it seems to be blip number 200 - time has flown...
Jack, Marianna and I have been watching the travel news updates like hawks. As I write - early evening - we are expecting their flight to Athens tomorrow to be cancelled. As more and more European countries ban flights to and from England, this seems the most likely outcome. Even if it's not cancelled tomorrow, it probably isn't sensible to fly out when the prospects for a return flight will be very uncertain.  I feel for Marianna in particular, who misses her parents deeply. We'll see what transpires by tomorrow.
So I've been wrapping presents, finishing work on a little corduroy dress for Frieda and, in parallel, finishing off the sorting-out of some stuff that will end up on eBay or at the charity shop. Most of it is horse-related kit, now temporarily draped over the rocking-horse that sits in my study. A spare bridle, a bareback riding pad, a spare girth... News from Milly's new family is still all very positive, which is great. So perhaps that's making it easier to shed these final echoes of her presence.
Richard is back from Northern Ireland, in the nick of time really.  He needs a rest... and a chance to let feelings settle.
