A time for everything

Setting sun through the trees

While Roger was at the plant, I took myself off to nearby Lac Brome and the village of Knowlton. The road down to Knowlton ran alongside the still frozen lake, and there were still people out on the lake ice-fishing. The village of Knowlton is accredited as "one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec", and has some beautiful Victorian homes, several of which have been turned into boutiques. It has several churches and a picturesque pond. It was a beautiful sunny day and I walked around for quite a while taking pictures , and stopping at one of the cafes for lunch.

In the evening, since several of the local restaurants are closed on a Monday evening, Roger and I returned to the area to eat at an auberge he had read about in the guidebook. We had an excellent meal, and I snapped this shot of the sun setting over the frozen lake while we were driving around trying to find the place, which was out in the country.
