Simply Red

Even though I have been involved in growing ornamentals all my life and am interested in them, I am not that into photographing flowers. However, if an insect is present that's a different story. (A flower without a bug is like a kiss without a hug.)

This is an emergency blip. It's an Anthurium which I got at the local garden centre, not quite knowing who it is for. It has the sort of suggestive bloom beloved of Georgia O'Keeffe and sure enough she has painted one. I love her flower paintings, particularly Jimson Weed, the most expensive painting by a woman ever sold at auction. I used to grow lots of Datura.
